Pte Harold J Harris (formerly employed at Messrs Tipping and Morris, Lyttelton House, Malvern) who was a member of the Worcestershire Yeomanry when War broke out was killed by a shell at the same time as an officer whose servant he was. He was killed in action during actions on the Steenbeek, near Langemarck at the opening of the Passchendaele Offensive.

This officer is thought to be 2/Lieut John Guilding who is also recorded as having died on 17th August 1917.
