In June 1917 the Malvern News reported: “Gnr J H Morris, RFA, the son of Mrs Morris of Cowleigh Road, has died of wounds. A chaplain states that he died three-quarters of an hour after being admitted to the dressing station. Up until the end he was conscious and his thoughts were of home. The following morning he was laid to rest.”
