Herbert Lewis, was born in Malvern in 1889, the son of Charles Lewis, a plasterer and his wife Alice. He grew up on Poolbrook Common and married Elizabeth Hill in Malvern in 1912.
He was probably killed by heavy shelling around the 3rd Worcesters HQ on the 16th June 1917. His death was reported in the Malvern News only a fortnight later.
He is commemorated at St Matthias, Malvern Link and St Andrews, Malvern Common.
