George Baggott, was a stud horseman of Ashcroft, Upper Welland before the war. He was born in Bosbury, Herefordshire in 1879 the son of David and Elizabeth Baggott. He married Mary Richardson on 8th June 1913 at Emmanuel Church, Wells Road.
George was conscripted in June 1916 and was mobilised at the end of August being posted to the 14th Devons – a labour battalion. He landed at Le Havre on 3rd October 1916, where the Battalion became part of the Third Army. He died of wounds received in action a year later on the 2nd October 1917.
