Cyril Foxwell enlisted at the outbreak of war into the Army Vetinerary Corps and was attached to the Worcestershire Yeomanry [1]. He was killed when Turkish forces surrounded men of the Worcestershire and Gloucestershire Yeomanry at Qatia [2] who were guarding engineers digging wells. A large number of yeomen were killed or taken prisoner during this action. His death was reported to his family in May 1916.
