Mrs Linzee Giles, the wife of the vicar of Malvern unveiled the Wyche School War Memorial on the 16th February 1921. A laurel wreath inscribed In proud and loving memory from the teachers and scholars was been placed at the foot of the memorial on one side and on the other a wreath from one of the bereaved families, bearing the words In loving memory of our dear son Charles Arthur Whatmore who died on 3/5/15, ever in the memory of his mother, father, sister and brother. Red tulips and white narcissi were given by Mrs A Cotterrell, mother of one of the dead heroes and Mrs Oakridge made four laurel wreaths which were hung round the memorial. According to the newspaper report, the effect "was very beautiful and formed a striking tribute to the men who died." The Vicar of Malvern, Revd A Linzee Giles dedicated the memorial.
