Biography

In June 1917 the Malvern News reported: "Mr and Mrs Goodyear, late of Richmond Road, Malvern Link have received information that their son Gordon was killed on the 25th April - the following letter from his Commanding Officer, Lt-Colonel F M Tomkinson was received by his father: 'It is with very much regret that I have to inform you that your son has been killed in action. He was a splendid fellow, brave, willing and in action as my runner, always performed his duties so well. We cannot afford to lose such fellows, but some of us must fall.'
