In November 1918, the Malvern News reported: "Pte C Rumsey (the son of Mrs Rumsey of Redland Road, Malvern) has been wounded in the chest and lungs. Three years ago he joined the PPCLI. He was well-known in Malvern link before he emigrated to Canada."
It is presumed that the newspaper should have printed 'Pte G Rumsey'.
