Biography

The influenza death of Pte William George John Heath (son of Mr George Heath of 1 Valley House, Malvern) aged 22 is reported. He joined the Hereford Regiment at the outbreak of war and went to the Dardanelles, and served in Egypt where he remained for 10 months. He contracted malaria and was sent to hospital in Southampton. On his recovery he was sent to France, where he was wounded and was again sent back to England. He returned to France of Good Friday 1918 and was again wounded. After another stay in hospital to France with a Labour Company he was invalided home on the 4/2/19. His funeral was held in Colwall Churchyard.
