In May 1918 the Malvern News reported: "Mrs Eales'
eldest son, Pte Arthur Evans, Worcestershire Regiment who has been missing since
October 1916 has been presumed killed. He and his brother enlisted in the same
month and Arthur would have been 25 in May 1918. Before going into the Army
he was employed at Messrs Holbrook and Adams, grocers, West Malvern. Mrs Eales
stepson, Pte Roland Eales, Worcestershire Regiment
was killed on the 13/3/18."
