Reginald Brookes was born on the 22nd April 1895 at Malvern, the son of Albert Brookes. He was educated at West Malvern School from the 5th May 1902 until the 18th December 1908 when he and his family moved to Colwall. He enlisted in the Worcestershire Regiment at Birmingham and was killed at the Battle of the Somme with the 10th Battalion.
